Kuromi is a typeface that I designed with a more simplified, fun blackletter typeface reference in mind. The inspiration came from the Sanrio Character Kuromi’s signature look - the triangular ears on her head. I wanted to give each letter a bit of a characteristic trait in a similar way, and eventually made a fanzine using the typeface as a tribute.
