Crew Brand Identity 2022Graphic Design Branding Visual Identity Motion Design Brand Identity created at Dazzle Studio, under the Creative Direction of Zipeng Zhu. Grand Crew is equal parts creative agency and production company. They tell stories that transcend genre, approaching all projects with a commitment to creativity.&nbsp; Approaching this project, we wanted to create something elegant, classic with a modern twist. We used the simple red dot of a recording screen as the highlight of the logo, and combined it with the brackets of the viewfinder screen in various applications.&nbsp; This is a project still under Hey, it's Alex https://alex-mi.com/Content-Warning-Bugs Content Warning: Bugs 2025Graphic Design Self initiated Project In 2025, lanternfly bodies blanketed the streets of New York City — crushed red wings and black remains marking every sidewalk. Encouraged by government messaging to see it, kill it, ‘Smash and Scrape’. NYC Residents responded with striking obedience, turning extermination into a collective, unquestioned act. This project examines the contradiction between beauty and harm: a visually striking insect deemed worthy of death, and the normalization of cruelty when it is framed as beneficial. Through this tension, I explore how violence becomes acceptable — even aesthetic — under authority. I documented lanternfly bodies found across the city and translated them into vector illustrations, carefully rendering each insect’s posture in death. By isolating and preserving these moments digitally, the project treats extermination as both record and repetition, emphasizing the quiet violence embedded in everyday compliance. <img width="1500" Limbo is a periodical publication created to guide its reader to contemplate the heavy topic of mortality. Its physical format, a collection of receipt strips, embodies the concept of memento mori with each printed letter fading at the touch of a hand, leaving behind an unlimited amount of negative space for contemplation. The book is a visual archive of a conversation between me and a companion AI app. I asked the AI 36 questions sourced from a psychology study, in which the questions are supposed to create intimacy between the two participants and eventually make them fall in love.&nbsp;
